We are seeking a Senior Digital Practice Leader to help shape the future of digital design within a forward-thinking architecture studio. The ideal candidate sees digital practice as both a creative driver and a catalyst for innovation, bringing expertise in emerging technologies, computational design, and visualization to influence projects, teams, and client engagement. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC. Role and Responsibilities • Partner with studio leadership and firmwide Digital Practice leadership to define and implement digital strategy. • Drive the culture of digital practice, establishing vision, goals, and workflows that enhance design and delivery. • Lead teams in developing project-specific digital strategies and innovative design processes. • Advise project teams on technology approaches across all phases of the project lifecycle. • Collaborate with marketing and client engagement teams to support business development and digital advisory services. • Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and user groups to showcase leadership in digital practice. • Develop, document, and implement best practices, workflows, and standards across the studio. • Mentor and manage digital practice team members, supporting growth and knowledge sharing. • Communicate digital strategies and solutions to clients and project stakeholders. • Lead internal training sessions and contribute to ongoing learning and curriculum development. • Promote adoption of emerging tools, technologies, and research initiatives across the studio. Experience and Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field. • 15+ years of experience across architectural design and production, with a strong focus on digital practice. • Proven leadership experience driving digital innovation within an architecture or design environment. • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, Blender, and related design technologies. • Experience with computational design, visualization, and environmental analysis tools. • Strong communication skills across written, verbal, and graphic formats. • Experience leading training, mentorship, and technical support initiatives. • LEED Green Associate required within 6 months of hire. • Additional Living Design accreditation (LEED AP, WELL AP, etc.) preferred. • Active involvement in AXP or pursuit of ARE preferred. • Passion for emerging technologies and their impact on design and the built environment.
