This position requires a<br> probationary period before tenure consideration, based on performance <br>and potential. Candidates must have a strong academic record and an <br>appropriate terminal degree. The typical teaching load per semester <br>includes 6 credit hours of studio instruction and 3 credit hours of <br>support course instruction. with final workload percentages for <br>research, teaching, and service determined in the first semester of <br>hire. <br><br>As the largest school in the College of the Arts, <br>the School of Architecture and Design offers nationally accredited <br>programs in Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design. The <br>candidate should demonstrate an area/ areas of expertise which may <br>include, building systems, sustainable design principles, digital <br>representation techniques, ecological design, and or social equity. The <br>successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching <br>courses that guide students through foundational and intermediate stages<br> of architectural education. Their role will be crucial in shaping the <br>studio curriculum, ensuring that students gain a comprehensive and <br>practical education in architecture.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities </strong><ul><li> Teach undergraduate and graduate lecture and studio courses as suited to the candidate's experience and expertise. </li> <li> Enhance the School's curriculum and course offerings in the studio design sequence </li> <li> Establish a rigorous research agenda. </li> <li> Provide guidance and leadership in fostering a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students. </li> </ul> Contribute to committee tasks, advise students, and engage in service <br>activities that advance the mission of the Program, School, College, and<br> the University. <br><br><strong>Salary Range: </strong>The salary will be commensurate with experience. <br><br><strong>Start-up<br> Funds: </strong>Start-up funds may be available.
