Why this role is interesting

We're partnering with an internationally renowned design studio to find an experienced Masterplanning Lead to drive the delivery of large-scale, transformative projects across the Middle East, Asia and beyond. This is an opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex mixed-use developments, cultural destinations, waterfronts and city-scale masterplans that will redefine how people live, work and connect. You'll have the freedom to influence design direction, build client relationships and mentor a talented team, all while working on projects that make a lasting global impact. If you're a strategic thinker with exceptional urban design skills and the ability to lead both people and projects, this could be the career-defining move you've been looking for. As a Masterplanning Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping major international developments from concept through to planning and delivery. Working closely with clients, consultants and internal design teams, you'll champion design excellence while ensuring projects remain commercially successful and technically robust. This is a leadership position with genuine influence across design, business development and studio growth. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and delivery of large-scale masterplanning and urban design projects across international markets. • Develop compelling masterplanning concepts from early vision through to planning and delivery. • Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest design, technical and commercial standards. • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners. • Present design concepts confidently at client meetings, workshops and international presentations. • Oversee project programmes, resources and project performance to ensure successful outcomes. • Mentor and develop junior designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. • Support business development through bids, competitions and client presentations, contributing to the continued growth of the studio. Skills & Experience • Degree in Architecture, Urban Design or a related discipline. • Significant experience leading complex masterplanning or large-scale mixed-use developments. • A strong portfolio demonstrating visionary design thinking alongside successful project delivery. • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and building long-term client relationships. • Excellent presentation, communication and leadership skills. • Experience delivering international projects, particularly across the Middle East or Asia, is highly desirable. • Strong proficiency in Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite and other industry-standard design software. • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance creativity, technical excellence and commercial awareness. • Passion for design excellence and a genuine desire to shape impactful places on a global scale. Benefits • Work on globally recognised, city-shaping projects across the Middle East, Asia and other international markets. • Lead the design of landmark mixed-use, hospitality, residential, commercial and cultural developments from concept through delivery. • Clear pathway into senior leadership within a growing international design practice. • Collaborate with some of the industry's leading architects, urban designers and masterplanners in a highly creative, multidisciplinary environment. • Opportunity for international travel, client engagement and exposure to world-class projects. • Ongoing professional development, mentorship and opportunities to lead design competitions and strategic bids. • Flexible working arrangements, competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. • Join a studio where ambitious ideas are encouraged, innovation is celebrated and your work will have a lasting impact on cities around the world.
