We are seeking a highly accomplished and licensed Landscape Architect to serve in a senior leadership capacity within our hospitality practice in our Miami, FL Studio. This role is responsible for shaping design vision, guiding technical execution, and driving business growth through established client relationships and new opportunities. As a senior leader, this individual plays a critical role in influencing project strategy, expanding market presence, strengthening client partnerships, and mentoring teams. The ideal candidate brings significant business development experience, an established network within the hospitality industry, and an active book of business. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients, a subject matter expert in technical solutions, and a champion of innovation, collaboration, and design excellence across the firm. Role and Responsibilities • Provide senior leadership to the landscape architecture team, setting design direction and ensuring excellence across hospitality projects. • Lead business development efforts, leveraging an existing book of business and industry relationships to generate new opportunities. • Identify, pursue, and secure new hospitality projects aligned with firm strategy and growth goals. • Partner with the Principal-in-Charge (PIC) to define project strategy, scope, work plans, and resource allocation. • Lead complex, high-visibility hospitality projects and guide teams through all phases from concept to implementation. • Serve as primary client relationship leader, fostering long-term partnerships and repeat business. • Direct the development of innovative, experience-driven landscape solutions aligned with hospitality brand vision. • Make high-impact decisions that influence design integrity, guest experience, technical execution, budget, and schedule. • Oversee the creation and quality of detailed implementation documents to ensure alignment with design intent and firm standards. • Lead QA/QC oversight, maintaining best practices and elevating documentation quality across the team. • Supervise and mentor landscape architects and designers, supporting professional growth and leadership development. • Guide consultant coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration, including public agencies and contractors. • Lead client presentations, negotiations, and critical discussions with confidence and clarity. • Monitor risk management considerations and proactively address potential project challenges. • Participate in studio leadership discussions related to growth strategy, team development, and market positioning. • Attend site visits and client meetings as required. • Travel as necessary to support client development and project needs. Experience and Qualifications • Accredited professional degree in Landscape Architecture or related field. • Landscape Architect (L.A.) license required. • Typically 15+ years of progressive professional experience, including senior leadership on complex hospitality or resort projects. • Significant business development experience with demonstrated success in generating and securing new work. • Active book of business and established hospitality industry relationships required. • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing high-profile client relationships. • Sustainable design accreditation preferred. • Advanced knowledge of landscape architecture principles, sustainability, and integrated design strategies. • Advanced expertise in QA/QC processes, code analysis, and implementation documentation. • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software preferred. • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred. • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. • Strong organizational and strategic management abilities, with capacity to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously. • Demonstrated ability to lead with diplomacy, collaboration, and relationship-centered leadership. • Ability to inspire teams, drive innovation, and uphold the highest standards of design quality.
