Why this role is interesting

An established, design-driven residential developer–builder is seeking a Building Designer to play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality design + construct projects. Reporting directly to the in-house Architect, you will lead projects from concept design through planning approval and design development — taking ownership of form, spatial organisation and built outcomes — while remaining actively involved in documentation and technical resolution. The role will suit someone who values collaboration and shared success, and who enjoys influencing project direction from early feasibility through to detailed documentation. You’ll be stepping into a tight-knit, design-led environment where ideas are genuinely heard, and where strong architectural thinking drives both the creative and commercial outcome. Key Responsibilities • Lead concept design, planning strategy and built-form development across residential projects. • Interpret planning controls and translate them into commercially sound, design-led outcomes. • Prepare clear, accurate and well-resolved documentation including drawings, models, specifications and schedules. • Act as the design lead on allocated projects, working closely with the Lead Architect to maintain design integrity from feasibility through to delivery. • Contribute to interiors development and detailed construction documentation. • Collaborate closely with planners, consultants and construction teams to ensure cohesive project outcomes. • Present and articulate design intent confidently to both internal and external stakeholders. Skills & experience • Relevant qualification in design • Highly proficient in revit • Min 5 years residential design • Experience in leading a design process across all phases of the design process • Excellent understanding of relevant Australian construction codes and legislation • High levels of competence in producing CAD drawings (Revit) • A keen eye for detail and accuracy • High levels of personal time management to ensure everything runs on time, every time • Previous work within a Quality Assurance framework. • Be an excellent communicator • Be a reliable and collaborative team participant and have a methodical and organized approach to work tasks.
